Travel Option
Brisbane Airport to Convention Venue via Airtrain, train, Suncoast Cabs

Thur 04 April 2019

For any cloggers wishing to travel from the Brisbane Airport (both Domestic & International Terminals) to the Currimundi Recreation Centre we would like to suggest an alternative transport option if you would like to take the scenic route and also avoid the busy highway north coast traffic. This is a good option for those who have flights out on the Sunday night after the Convention.

Upon arrival at either terminal, you can simply catch the Airtrain to Eagle Junction Station and change to a Nambour train that will allow you to either get off at a station along the way or go to Nambour where we have been able to arrange with Suncoast Cabs a set rate that will transport cloggers from the Nambour Railway Station to our Convention Venue.

The Brisbane Airtrain ( has an excellent website that will give you all the information you need about pricing (including discounted pre-booking), timetables, network maps, journey planner and even videos of how easy it is to get from the terminals to board the Airtrain on the elevated Skywalk.

Once you have left the Domestic Terminal Station and go through the International Terminal Station, you need to travel only one stop to arrive at Eagle Junction Station where you change trains to the line north - all-inclusive in your fare!!

If you choose to travel through to Nambour Station, you will be picked up at your pre-arranged time by Suncoast Cabs for transport to the Venue.

Suncoast Cabs have been able to offer us set rates for this trip - for 4 people or less the rate would be $75, for 5-11 passengers the rate would be $105. N.B. If you are unable to get a group together, the Cab Co. will make up the groups (so people can get the discounts) from people who are arriving/departing Nambour Station on the same train!!

To take advantage of this offer please phone Suncoast Cabs on (07)5441 8888 and ask for Tim between 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, or Andrew for the same hours on Friday. Simply mention you are part of the Convention Group!

As a very general guideline - for a person taking advantage of a pre-booked, discounted Airtrain trip and being in a group of 8 people for the taxi ride from Nambour to the Convention Venue the price would be approx. $45 each way. Obviously if you can arrange to get your own group together, you will know the exact number in your group and the amount you will pay for your split of the taxi fare!

For any further enquiries email or phone Dell on 0402 103 799 or Sue on 0438 309 878

Andrew Perry has been clogging since 2006, started teaching in 2007 and started his own clogging group, The Drew Crew Cloggers in 2009. The club is now comprised of more than 35 members with half of his dancers being under the age of 15!

Andrew has always been proud to teach the ways of clogging to all age groups. Since he began teaching, Andrew has performed in demonstrations and taught at numerous regional, national and international workshops and Conventions throughout the United States and Canada. He has extensive fundraising and administrative experience and is a proud board member of the Western New York Cloggers Association which is the organization responsible for putting on the Nickel City Clogging Festival in Buffalo, NY every April as well as the Salt City workshop and competition in Syracuse, NY every October.

Andrew's travels for clogging have taken him to many amazing and far-off places, but this will be his first trip to Australia. He is looking forward to meeting everyone at the 2019 Currimundi Convention as well as renewing already established friendships with Australian Cloggers he has met along the way!
